We are back!

I’m thrilled to be sitting at my desk getting back to blogging.  We had a great 11 day trip to Florida to visit theme parks and family!

I even had the pleasure of an unexpected coffee date with a fellow blogger!

But…I’m glad to be home.  As great as the trip turned out to be, I am sitting here in pain, and feeling that general malaise of coming down with something…or maybe it is fatigue.

My back is pretty beat up, but I’m glad it is, in a weird sort of way.  The muscles in my back are all messed up from riding mini roller coasters with Jasper who insisted that I hold him tightly.  His first roller coaster was Big Thunder Mountain at Magic Kingdom.  He was not a fan at first, but quickly morphed into a roller coaster lover…as long as I held him tightly.  He even raised his arms…as long as I held him tightly.  Doing so meant that I was slung around quite a bit, and now my back is paying for it.  I did this for 4 days straight before crying uncle. The Hippogriff at Universal was the final straw after 5-6 times in a row.  He was having fun, and that’s all I wanted.

You may remember my great wrestling with bringing my big girl camera, or not.  I did bring it.  However, my intital hunch was right.  I ended up Instagramming almost the entire trip.  We just were moving so fastly, and the kids did not want to slow down for pictures.  I did get a few, but opted to put the camera away and just be in the moment.

And…I don’t think a 50mm was the right lens to bring.  If you go, bring a lens with a wide angle and zoom capability…but quality glass.  You live and learn.

Magic Kingdom was our first park.  It is my favorite…because of the Magic.  I just love the story telling, and drawing you into the story.  We park hopped this time, and were able to keep going back for more!

I was so happy that my kids agreed to Mouse Ears this time.  I just loved seeing them on their little heads.

Despite the aching back, it sounds like a magical time. Sounds like you need a vacation after your vacation. ;p I was very sick the day after we got back from Korea.

I hardly ever use my 50mm when we go out, except when I know that I will be taking pictures of the kids.

If your back is not hurting after a trip to Disney then you didn’t do Disney – it is part of the process. I did not full with cameras when my children were small, but now that they are grown, Disney is a whole different experience, even still I set aside some days for just cell phone pictures.
