I would walk 500 miles

These shoes have seen it all.

29/365

snowy feet

But fit for snow, they are not. Snow is so rare here that we do not have special snow clothing or footwear.

A few frozen toes did not stop anyone, but I’m thinking that we need to perhaps be a little more prepared this winter.  I’m hearing that February is slated to be colder than our past averages.   I might need to scour the sales racks for a few items so these kids can keep walking.  They logged quite a few hours in this snow.

  1. Awesome shot!

  2. Love the laces. When I was a kid they had rubber boots that slid over your regular shoes and buckled – honestly I think it was one size-fits-all for kids. We were prepared for everything. We ended up getting special socks that fit into our daughter’s wellies, making them snow-ready.

  3. Ouch, that does look cold – poor toes! :-)

  4. Nicki…I forgot all about those boots! We use to put our feet in socks and then into used bread bags that my mom would save, and then put our feet into the boots…to keep them from getting wet. Hope you are enjoying the winter that is something that HOT-lanta isn’t use too! Thanks for joining in at Song-ography.

  5. very cool sneakers, with such a fun vibe!! great shot!!

  6. Frozen toes! I’ve done that, too. Now I have boots I love, but I wouldn’t wear them in the snow — they’re for fashion, not function. Stay warm this month!

  7. Your photo brings me back to the days when we refused to wear boots because they didn’t look “cool” Instead we all froze our toes. We were cool, all right. Downright frozen! Love your shot.

  8. How funny that you & Tamar chose the same song :) Hehehe – definitely not the right shoes for snow – stay warm!!!

    Hugs!

Yep Tennis shoes & Snow, not a real good mix. I’m hearing forecast of the “white” stuff for Feb. too. Thank goodness it is a short month.

  11. Great shoes but as you say, not quite the right thing for snow
