Little Things Thursday

I’ve been waiting for these scans since late March.  First, I had to finish the roll, send them in to The Find Lab, and then wait for the scans.  I admit that it is hard to wait on results.  The upside is that scan day is a bit like Christmas Day every single time.  There are always those shots that are the things on your Christmas list and shots that are like socks and underwear under the tree. Both make up the whole Christmas package.

The keepers, though…worth it!

  1. Beautiful portraits of your girl. Gotta love a girl with curly hair 🙂 I just cut my Blessings hair so instead of it being below mid back it is now mid shoulder length which is a much better length for summer swim team.

  2. Man, I don’t know half of what you know about photography. I just know I love your skills and technique. I love the heart that you get / capture in your camera, for dang sure.

  7. Your daughter is beautiful and, I’m guessing, a deep thinker ? You’ve captured her perfectly. That second shot has got to have you crying, she’s growing up too fast! And I adore the one from the 22nd post of her with the cherry blossoms. Definitely a roll worth waiting for!

  8. Look at your gorgeous girl! Love that door as the backdrop!! So how do you get a digital copy as well?

  9. I remember the days of sending film off to be developed and then waiting on it to come back. You are so right, it did feel a lot like Christmas morning. You are doing well with this manual camera. Beautiful photos as always!

  10. Besides stating the obvious…that your daughter is a beauty….I will say that I LOVE those shots of her with the white door and bricks as the backdrop. Such gorgeous texture, yet not an overpowering presence, they add to the shots!

  11. Kim, such a pretty face. She is a lovely subject, for sure.

  20. Awesome images of your stunning daughter (?). Gorgeous! I love the fact that you took these ‘oldschool’ on film.
I am all over the place at the moment with what I am doing, creatively speaking, so maybe one day I’ll also get my old film camera out.
    Thank you for the inspiration.

  21. your beautiful girl is growing up fast!

  22. Wow this set is amazing! What lens did you shoot these with? Was it the 50mm 1.7? Did you stop it down to f/2 to get better image quality or shoot it wide open?
