Little Things Thursday|Photography Link Up

We, like many of you, have been rain soaked these last several weeks.  Kinda makes photography inspiration elusive.

My kids are not really sensing my need to photograph them this week, either.  One is sick, so he gets a pass.

I tend to take my lack of inspiration to the kitchen.  I had someone ask me this week if I am a food blogger, and most assuredly, I am not.  I am first and foremost a photographer|photo-blogger.  However, as a photographer, I try to explore all sorts of photography.  I might pigeon-hole myself as a portrait artist, but I don’t want to stop growing there.  I love food, and I love photography.  Food is beautiful, and it inspires me.  If it is beautiful, I want to photograph it.

Since you might see a recipe from time to time here, I went antiquing to look for a few items that I can use in food styling.

There is something about vintage crockery that makes food beautiful.

I went on a mission to find some vintage Pyrex, and I did find a mint condition casserole.  I also stumbled upon this orange Fire King Carnival Glass bowl.  I really like the idea of mixing vintage and modern pieces.

So stay tuned, dear friends, for the occasional food inspired post.

What’s got you inspired this week?

  10. What lovely finds! I am dying to go antiquing but I always seem to have little hands with me and little bums that don’t like strollers any more. That would probably result in an expensive trip.

I have been feeling the same way. Your images are beautiful and inspiring though. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I hope your little guy feels better soon!
