Little Things Thursday (8)

It is time for Little Things Thursday once again!  I trust we have all had a great first week of 2014!  So far I have kept up with my 365 project, and started knitting.  I’m 1/4 way into a scarf!

I’ve learned a couple things about my 365 project in just this first week.  The main thing is that while I am striving to take a decent photo a day, I simply cannot blog a post a day.  It is counterproductive to all I know to be true about blogging, and it is hard to post meaningful posts when you feel like you a running a post mill.  So…starting next week, I am going to have to go back to my normal posting schedule and just include multiple 365 images per post.   Meanwhile, I am posting my images to my flickr page to keep them all in one place.

Alpaca hat

It has been so cold this week, so I remembered the Alpaca woolen hats that I bought in Peru this past September.  We stepped outside for just 3-4 minutes in 20 degree weather for a quick image.  And yes, he is a handsome boy.  I know what you are thinking, and I’m thinking it too…but let’s just leave it unsaid…since this blog is primarily a legacy of memories for my kiddos. 🙂

So let’s see what you have been capturing this New Year!

  2. I love your black and white portraits… perfect.

  3. Good luck with your 365 Project. I know just how tough it can be, but I have it all organist and filed now and that makes it much easier. Also, with regard to posting everyday… that is why I created a completely separate space for my 365 Project so that my other blog does not become cluttered.

Glad you’re staying warm! Alpaca hats are a great choice for that!

I’m doing a 365 too and found that it’s a lot easier taking the pictures every day than doing a post. At least I put them in my flickr album and that keeps me accountable to myself.

  6. I think it’s great you have been able to keep up with your 365 – that is tough. I did one year & then had to cut it back. I often felt that I would take so many pics on certain days that they should count towards the other days when I couldn’t pick up the camera. 🙂

    Happy Thursday my friend!!

  8. It’s funny that you are reflecting on this at this time (which is perfect). I was thinking about what I want to commit to, and that was the inspiration for today’s blog post.
BTW, looking at your son…wow, he’s a true mirror of you.

  9. Well, if the original way of knitting starts wearing on you…which I hope it doesn’t. You can always try your hand at loom knitting, which is what I do. I did a few posts on this, if you would like to look at them. I had such trouble keeping my stitches with all the same tension…the reason I turned to the loom. ☺ I love the mustard color you picked…Tell precious boy…what a gem he is about being such a cute model.

  10. I understand where you’re coming from. I have a hard time keeping up with my blogs and my artwork too.

  11. Okay, I won’t say it. Yes, the 365 project. I started my second on July 1 so I’m smack dab in the middle. This week has gone gangbusters as the sun was out and I could chase it around my house. Today is grey, grey, grey … and so are my creative juices. Ackkk!

  12. ARGH!!!!! Had a whole reply typed out and somehow it didn’t post!!!!!! Oh well…suffice it to say I did NOT mention what you didn’t want us to mention in that post 🙂

  13. I love the idea of posting multiple 365 posts in one…kind of like I did on day 3…including 1-3…because it doesn’t really leave much room for sharing anything else if that is all we are posting. Though, each new day brings a new photo and I am finding the challenge to look for creative and different things quite refreshing!

Striking photography, as always, Kim. Have fun with the knitting… Maybe we’ll get to see your completed scarf in a portrait coming soon? You can do it!
