Little Things Thursday

Are the weeks flying by, or is it just me?  I mean it seems like we will never finish with winter, but at the same time Little Things Thursday seems to come fast each week.  You know what else went fast?

Our winter break.

study

We are back to the grind.  Those 9 glorious days off went by in a blink.  In a way, I’m glad.  I feel more productive on work days.  I never really know how to spend my time in the sort of half-duty mode. Sitting around feels a bit like watching paint dry on the walls.  Strangely, I think I’m much more a Monday-Friday person, unless there is something really great going on the weekends.  That tells me two things: I’m a hopeless workaholic and I need to get out more. Or maybe I need to move somewhere with vibrant culture. I sometimes use work to cover up a deeper restlessness.  I’m feeling a triangle flare-up these days.

Maybe some of you can help me with that by showing me little parts of your world.  Let’s see what’s popping in your part of the globe.

  1. I didn’t realize “it” had a name (love that children are stars!)… my husband speaks of this feeling often and now we can refer to it by name I suppose. Like you Kim, he had a flare-up recently, and look where that took us 😉

  2. I know what you mean about time going by quickly. I work best when things are in some kind of a routine. The little weeks off here and there kind of throw me for a loop

  3. Love that you call it a flare-up! I have them all of the time, and am working on how to control them so that we don’t end up moving again 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  4. I hear you about how fast the break went…and winter will never end! It was -2 with the windchill this AM and we’re getting snow today and a serious storm Monday…I thought it would change when March came….

    Happy Thursday!

  5. Not sure my post is “Popping” but it certainly was productive. The weeks seem to fly by for me as well and I don’t have a Monday-Friday kind of schedule. More like an anytime schedule. Give it time, you will figure it out.

  6. YES – the weeks are flying by. Way too quickly. I keep saying I need to add another 20 hours to the week just to get caught up on things.

Hugs friend – so wish we were closer so we could help each other out.

  7. Awe, it’s always hard to turn back to a routine after a long break.

  8. You know, I just like having a routine, any routine. It’s really been nice having a full week of school…finally. 🙂

  9. weekend is almost here – more time for fun!

  10. Breaks always go too fast:(
    I’m like you…I need structure.

    Triangle-flare up?! Interesting…gotta read more.

  11. A little quiet time is necessary for me. Too much, not so much. We’re so hard to please, aren’t we?

Yes – the weeks pass in a blur. I’m ready for spring, but not sure I’m ready to be drowning in editing again. Last Spring/Summer/Fall were all work and no play for me. Hoping I can find a better balance this year. And I definitely need to get out more. Wish we could get out together! 🙂

  13. A beautiful b&w image.

  14. I love this beautiful photo, study habits are very important!

  15. This has been a trying winter – but I can remember worse, so I shouldn’t complain. Sadly, if history has any validity, Spring will dabble in extremes – hot/cold/hint of mild and in a blink, we will be stifled by an oppressively hot summer – again stuck indoors; (unless the glass is half full and we are blessed with a mild one – oh, wouldn’t that be dreamy). I guess the best thing to do is make the most of it – cold, hot, work, play.

I like the lighting in this shot.

Oh, I need me some down time or I just don’t function very well anymore. Just adding a bible study one day a week and my metals class two days a week, and every other week at the hospital and now track on Thursdays…sigh…I’m so tired. Which is why I haven’t linked up yet. I was too tired when I got home yesterday and can’t seem to get it together today for some reason. I’m hoping after the track meet and some fresh air? 🙂

Come hang with me, I’ll teach you how to slow down (she says with a busy schedule, haha) !

  17. Love your shot. The light and the shadow – perfect for black and white. I love how I can still see what’s happening in the shadow, even though that’s not the focus! I also love that I can’t tell if we have genuine concentration happening or if someone’s playing with his pencil…got a flash back image of my brother ~ the king of sit as his desk pencil games! Love joining in every thursday ~ and thanks for linking up your black and white shot!

  18. 12 more weeks of school – woot woot! That is what I say!! The sad thing is my kids are in a GREAT groove right now, it seems like it has taken all school year to get to THIS point and then just like that, school will be over for 12 weeks. You can always come up to Chicago – I’d run around with you and your kids for a week! Loads of culture here!
