Little Things Thursday

Today on Little Things Thursday I am announcing the winner of my Williams-Sonoma goody package!  I’m so excited to do this.  I surely hope it encourages the winner and helps her get ready for fall!

The lucky lady is….drum roll….. Nancy of A Rural Journal!  I am so excited for you Nancy! I will be emailing you this afternoon to get a mailing address from you.

winner

A big thank you to all who participated, and on to Little Things Thursday sharing!

Aidan-percy jackson stage

Aidan is now in his Percy Jackson phase.  2 years ago was the famous Harry, and now we are delving into this other great series.  I love when they love to read! It makes a Mama proud.

Short and sweet today as I have to be heading out to a presentation in just a few minutes for my upcoming travels to Peru.  It’s getting real!

Let’s see what you are up to!

  4. I’m so happy that Nancy won! She’s so nice and has such a beautiful blog. I love her posts. She has a nack for being able to post in a way that is funny, informative and pleasant to read all at the same time. Even though she lives a life that is very opposite from any life I’ve ever lived I can relate to her because she brings everything down to the heart of the matter. Her pictures are so pretty and peaceful. It’s a joy to visit her blog. Yay Nancy. I’m going to look up Percy Jackson to see if it would be age appropriate for our Peter Pan. I love to see children reading. Gives me hope.

  8. Yeah for Nancy – cool lady, cool prize. I miss the days when my children read for enjoyment. Assigned reading sucked all the fun out of it for them, but hopefully one day they get back to reading for pleasure – no strings attached.

  11. YAY Nancy!!! She’s going to love those!!

Love seeing your son reading. Our kids would really get along so well. Now that my kids are off school we have imposed a weekly book report rule until we are back to school after the holidays. My son has his nose buried in firefighter & paramedic manuals as his books of choice. My girls just informed me that they don’t own any books that they have not already read at least a couple times. Guess it’s time to stock up. 🙂

  17. Yes, very funny! Pretty in full reading!

  18. Don’t you love it when they love to read?

Reading wasn’t necessarily easy for Caleb when he was starting out. At 8.5yo, he finally loves it and will read just for pleasure. It warms my heart. Madeline is now taking an interest in reading things other than her school books. Woo hoo!

In other news, I can’t wait to hear about your mission trip when you return. I will continue praying for you and your peeps while you’re away.

  19. Oh, congrats to Nancy, how fun! Well, I think I’m starting to get back on track here…whew what a crazy few months it has been. My daughter loves to read, my son on the other hand does not….He excels at all his other subjects, but English/Reading is the one thing we need to work on.

  20. Congrats to Nancy!

I love seeing boys read! My 10 year old loves to read. My 7 year old, not so much. You would think I was torturing him when I ask him to read. 🙂

  21. Congrats to Nancy!

  22. Hmmm, I don’t know where my original comment went…

Anyway, just wanted to say that that image of your boy made me smile. Pics of children engrossed in reading always warm the heart. 🙂
