Little Things Thursday

The stork brought me a new bundle of joy this week.  I’m the proud mama to a Lensbaby Composer Pro Sweet 35! I’m really wanting to explore emotive photography.  There is just something about powerful, emotive images that brings out my inner emo.

I’m actually excited that there are no electronic communications between the lens and camera body.  I like being challenged both in technique and creativity.  And it is a challenge.

My first go with my LB.

I’m really loving the idea of imperfectly perfect.  A bit of Wabi Sabi in portraiture.  This is a delicate balance as imperfectly perfect is one thing and a hot mess is another.  Knowledge and experience with manual shooting will be a boon for new Lensbaby owners.  I’m looking forward to working with this lens and challenging myself.

Anyone have any photography projects that you are currently working on or in your plans?

Let’s see what you shot this week!

  6. Yeah on a new toy! I am not a huge fan of the Lensbaby, but your use is perfect – not too much, not too little. I really believe that my distaste came about because a few photographer-moms got it and went haywire, which triggered my motion-sickness gag reaction. But this picture, well this picture is an excellent example of knowing when to say when (and your fella is cute as heck).
