Inspired.

Do you find coffee shops inspiring?  I don’t know what it is about a coffee shop that makes me feel productive, creative, and inspired.  I love the atmosphere of others working around me.  I feel inspired to create surrounded by others seeking to create.

Today, on a whim, I gathered my kids and their work to head to a local coffee shop in our quaint downtown area.  Sometimes a change of venue is the right cure for apathy.

Or the-never-ending-winter-blues.

We ordered lattes…decaf, of course.  My kids think they are hot stuff drinking an occasional coffee.  Hello future coffee addicts.

We worked on a few school assignments.  And I found light, calling to be captured.  Inspired light.

  1. Oh I love little coffee shops! My absolute favorite one is in a very little town nearby and when I am working at the library I love to go and get a delicious latte… And the inside of the shop is always so cute!

  5. Beautiful shots Kim!
I feel the same way about coffee shops. Our kids are regulars at Starbucks and it’s a family treat. I do love a good mom and pop shop though. The quaint character can’t be beat.

  6. Your photos are beautiful! I’m not a coffee drinker, but there’s something about quaint little coffee shops that is so enticing to me.

  9. We lived in Paris (yes, the one in France) for 12 years when my kids were little. And to this day the thing I miss the most are the cafes. I’ve never found anything here that feels quite the same, but I love escaping to a good coffee shop…just have to travel a few towns over (at least) cause anonymity is part of the charm. These photos are lovely.

  13. I was just reading an article on how to get out of the photography rut and one of the things it mentioned is to get out and explore. 🙂 I love coffee shops, even though I’m not much of a coffee drinker. I love the smell of coffee and I love the feel of small coffee houses.

Great shots, all –but oh, I just LOVE that first one. 🙂

  15. So cute and I’m pretty sure it’s the caffeine (even decaf has some) that makes you feel a little zing.
