Ektar Film

It’s been several months since I have posted any film images.  The main reason is that it took all summer to use up two rolls of film!

But, I finally got them sent off to my lab and my Kodak Ektar roll came in today.  For those new to professional film, like me, Ektar is well-suited for sunny outdoor days.  The colors are punchy and Ektar showcases vibrant colors.  The downside is that sometimes you get red tones in unwanted places, like skin.  Still, I found Ektar to be a fun summer-friendly film with a vintage vibe that I love!

I decided to try this film on one of our summer pool outings.

It was such a surprise to get these scans back because I truly could not remember what was on them. I’ll share more later this week.

Film is tough, but so fun. Don’t be afraid of it. You gotta go big or go home! I love that I won’t forget these memories, because they are captured!

All images shot with Kodak Ektar 100 on Minolta SRT 101.

  1. Great pictures!!! love the blue in all of them, it feels cool! I think the funnest part of fil pictures (which I don´t really do) is the part of the surprise… nowadays we have not many surprises in our lives!

    • Thank you! I really love the blues as well! I so agree about the surprise part. I love the week or so of anticipation while waiting for the scans to come in. It’s like Christmas!

  3. They all so perfectly embody summer – I love them!!! This reminds me once again that I need to get these years of images off my computer & get them printed. I should also print the ones on my phone – since that is the only time I capture life anymore. It’s so sad. I need to find time to not just capture but process our daily life again.

  5. It’s been ages since I’ve shot in film. I don’t think my film camera is even working anymore. Would be great to have a go at that again. 🙂 I love how your images turned out!

  9. Haha…totally laughing right now because as I look at that last shot…all I hear in my head is the music of the “Jaws” theme song. Perfect photographs to illustrate the joy of summer. Thanks for joining in at Song-ography.
